As usual, the process of trying to explain various concepts and principles in writing has helped me to think about them more clearly.
The point was to explain these things to other people, but in writing it up I've remembered all sorts of bits and pieces I'd forgotten, and have actually read some of my many notes.
A well structured document demands certain questions be answered, forcing my brain to draw forth long-forgotten ideas.
The code will be better for having done this first.
