If the police aren’t allowed to search a postman (I find it very unlikely that there is any such prohibition), that would make it a great cover for drug delivery, which appears to be exactly what they were looking for here.
Going through a pile of sealed letters checking for anything hidden between them is not reading them without a warrant. The police in the video are not opening/reading the letters.
