About 1 month ago, I noticed Canadian banks have been requiring a “source of funds” declaration for all SWIFT transfers. After giving a generic answer, the reply from the teller was “I’d like to put down who specifically sent your company the funds”. I said “no, you have that info on the deposit information and cleared the funds”.
I used to get angry about this sort of thing, now I smile and think to myself “just keep doing what you’re doing”.
