Lavrov:No Difference In Ukraine, If Trump Elected.
I'd have to agree. As much as I like Trump, out of all the presidential hopefuls, as far back as two decades, I voted for him twice, so I don't know how I can like him more, he was hostile to Russia because he didn't want to validate the claims, that he was a Russian agent. He himself, on many occasions said as much in some of his speeches.
One suspects, that the relationship between the US and Russia, would have been better, if Trump had the courage to negotiate with them on the various differences between the two nations. However, if one remembers correctly, those efforts were stymied even before the president elect, Trump assumed office. Indeed, there were many allegations, thrown about, mainly by the democrats and the Hillary Clinton campaign, alleging Trump and various, Trump associates, being in league with Russian conspiracies. All that, no doubt, caused unease and further helped to deteriorate the relationship between the two countries. Which played right into the hands of the neocons, democrats and the Washington, D.C., deep state.
As usual, the law of unintended consequences played out again, because had there not been any talks of Russian collusion and all the allegations of Russian spies and stolen, fraudulent elections, by the democrats in 2016, the neocons, deep state and democrats would have probably gotten their way.
Since, it is doubtful that the Trump administration, without being under the scrutiny of Russian collusion, would have perhaps, gladly sanctioned Ukraine, to enter NATO. Trump has shown that he can be easily manipulated by the deep state Washington, establishment, uni-party as seen by his entrapment into the whole Covid-19 fiasco. It is doubtful that he wouldn't go along with his military and intelligence advisers, in regard to NATO membership of Ukraine. If this had happened, this war would be now known, as Trump's war.
The point is, does Lavrov have a point? Has Trump learned anything from his experiences, from the last eight years? Is he wiser to the foreign policy chess match going on around him? As a Trump supporter, I doubt it. He has given me no indication that he truly understands what is really at stake. His domestic policies, are on the other hand, spot on and we hope that in time, if he isn't up to speed on the geopolitical terrain, he can do so in time to make the proper moves. Only time will tell.
