What’s interesting is that Caesar was basically Julius Caesar’s first name. Julius was his family name. Everybody just decided to use his first name as an Imperial title. It’s like if the next Hitler was a guy named Joe Schmoe and his official title was Adolf, everybody called his family the Adolfs, and 2000 years later a dozen languages word for king was some mutation of Adolf.
