SSBM didn't have complex move combinations, like most fighting games. Every button did 1 kind of thing.
For example in SSBM I could hold B to charge an attack, and then tap B later to unleash the attack.
In a regular fighting game that would look more like > >v v B B___ or something more complex, maybe even some variation on press times for each step xD
