Went for a blood test this morning. At the hospital neither kiosk was working to let patients to signal their arrival. One was broken, the other part way through a 30 minute+ upgrade to Windows (it was a big patch Tuesday yesterday I understand). Why are simple 2 screen applications that could run on a z80 (say) beholden to an operating system environment that is entirely unsuitable? The stress this outage was causing phlebotomists and patients was astounding. The solution is not #AI, Sir Kier.
