Current GPUs have up to 0.1 trillion transistors, 10x the count of a top notch laptop CPU. In another few years, we can expect laptops or tablets to hit the trillion transistor mark. 99% of this will be dedicated to "AI" tasks, not user stuff. Laptops will be subsidized by advertisers and sold below cost price in return for privileged/non-bypassable access to the CPU to generate video spam that can't be switched off. Windows 11+ will collude in this.
