Now that The Last Dangerous Visions has been published, Half-Life 3 is one of the last major unfinished works in popular culture. I suppose you could include Sue Grafton's 'alphabet' mystery novels, with 'Z Is For Zero' remaining unwritten. I would argue that Grafton had a better excuse than what Newell provides here.
