I had to attend a job counseling seminar today in order to keep receiving unemployment benefits. One of the other attendees spoke about how there are 8 million open jobs in Massachusetts, a state with only 7 million people in total. She also mentioned “no one wants to work” just before stating she’s retiring in January and just using the unemployment system to carry her over until then.
