1/ Dear white people, if you are *not* checking in on your black and brown friends in the wake of the election and prefer to keep your collective heads in the sand, your friends might be better friends to YOU than you are to THEM.

Being able to opt out of difficult conversations about race is level of privilege that your friends simply don't have. Peace and quiet are two vastly different things. Silence is NOT golden.
