There would have to be overwhelming benefits of giving control to someone else, and often it seems like the trade-offs aren't actually taken into account. Makes me always wonder why, and if a little more fancy looking and potentially fragile UI is worth all the effort, cost of switching, and new trouble compared to improving a working system. Migration and retraining users alone is already expensive by itself.
