Why not mix it with your potting soil? I don't know if I'd use pure castings, though? They might be too rich and wet. Seedlings might grow poor roots, if they're "over fed" or even rot. But I never actually experimented with that, just quoting other gardeners' concerns. I guess, one of the reasons for good germination rates in compost piles is the higher (relative to surrounding garden beds) temperature.
