"content": "I happen to know one gene critical to producing blue pigment in the blue parent variety is temperature-sensitive, leading to brown pigment when it is relatively warm/hot out.\n\nI was only able to figure this out from several years of observation, but one could grow plants at different temperatures in growth chambers to figure it out in about a year.",
