I brought this up elsewhere, but audio storage was perfected with the CD. Unless someone is like part dog and raccoon there is no one who can hear compression issues from a CD. Video storage was perfected with the Blu Ray. There's that 4K sh!t but I should note that my cheapo Sony Blu Ray player upscales *DVD* playback so even that almost looks like Blu Ray quality.
