If we happen to make it through this, somehow, we should do away with pardons, executive orders, and executive appointments altogether. The executive branch already had too much power, and any one of these additional special powers can be used to leverage a coup. All government offices should be elected, period. Nobody in the government should have the ability to absolve themselves or their cronies of guilt or punishment for their crimes. All law should be produced by the legislature, a *body* of elected officials with that mandate, not the executive.
