As someone who has tried to setup a lightning wallet without a node yet, I would say Primal, that way they get the nostr social experience and the wallet. It's also pretty simple for new users I think.
I am realizing it's limitations and plan to try out others, but it was a good first step for me, not being split between multiple apps.
