Like you did, I put an SSD in it some time ago. I run Mint for the OS. The only problem is the display isn't great for color accuracy even when calibrated. The graphics control is minimalist so you can't set a good baseline to calibrate from. But for travel purposes it has been very robust surviving being kicked around in my tent, the tent filling up with sand during a wind storm, snow, and more.
