Today’s historic #photo of the day: Exactly 35 years ago today, W7 class #tram no 1029 running a route 10 service bound for South Melbourne & St Kilda Beach has just crossed Spring Street and entered Collins Street, Melbourne, July 9 1989.
Note the now-rare traditional style safety zone tram stop with fairly basic barriers and ground level boarding. Also note the tan-coloured 1970s style waiting shelter on the opposite footpath.
