We both know it works and the difference between bsky hosted PDSs and self hosted PDSs, and clients and appviews, and the DID methods, and what are examples of what, and what is independent of what.
Zooming out, what I don't get is the general Nostr attitude about atproto—and also Farcaster, and Pubky and whatever else. It can be very "Haha, you suck!". Like for anything that isn't Nostr. A very 1980s jocks-and-nerds high-school comedy vibe. It's not everyone, but it does seem to be the general vibe. Nostr has some good ideas and so do the others. If Nostr does do a Version 2 then there it'd be good have a clear view of how the others work and incorporate what makes sense to incorporate (PKDNS for one is a very good idea in my opinion.)
And if Nostr doesn't do a Version 2 then that's cool too. But then Nostr is not going to compete with atproto for Twitter-scale public square. Nostr will be for different use cases than the others, very much it's own thing. At that point there will be not much point making comparisons with the others, would be like comparing HTTP and SMTP.
