Berners are terrific dogs, but they are not LGDs (Livestock Guardian Dogs), their breed is originally a draft/carting dog. Depending upon where you live, how big an area, and what you're protecting, different LGD breeds bringing different skill sets to protecting livestock. The Berners are chasing the coyotes off, but an LGD or two will patrol and act as deterrents. Just a thought.
A donkey otoh, will kick the sh!t out of a coyote.
