I'm sure I probably under-appreciate the time suck of editing and distributing a podcast episode or YT video.

That's the only excuse I can think of for why a youtuber or podcaster wouldn't do the work to enable boostagrams or Nostr zaps.

Maybe FUD related to income-reporting requirements?
