Magpie is one of my perennially popular colourways, and this version is on that velvety merino/Pima cotton blend that creates such stunning visual effects. The “secret” is that the cotton does not take up acid dyes and so remains white, while the surrounding merino gets more intensely coloured by the extra dye.
