I think React is largely horrible too, but I constantly wonder if all the energy spent hating it could be better spent sharing knowledge that shows how to do things with less code, complexity, and overhead via web standards.

Facebook got us here by “marketing” React. Can we collectively erase that with a flood of increased awareness through more content about “holy shit, look what HTML and CSS can do without any JavaScript”?

Or maybe functional/OOP-oriented devs will just never embrace CSS?
