So it turns out that today at school the girl who stole the watch came up to my daughter at lunch (she’s in a different grade and they don’t really know each other) and asked her if she’s missing anything. Kiddo said, yeah actually, my Apple Watch has been missing since yesterday. The other kid says, I think I saw someone with it at my dance class what’s your password so I can get it for you. Kiddo was smart enough to say, why would you need my password to get my watch from them just take if and bring it back here to school. 🫡
I knew none of this. Just followed the FindMy app to this Metro Arts Center place. It wasn’t until after I get there and tell them the situation that they say there’s only two kids here that go to the same school. That’s when my daughter tells me the story. I cashed the principal, who called the other parents. One of the parents said it was causally brought up to them that they heard they bought their daughter an Apple Watch, so we narrowed it down to the one guilty party. 🤨
The principal said the mother was coming to the center with her daughter in tow to find the watch. As we waited, my daughter saw other kids she knew there from our neighborhood. They tell her multiple stories about this other kid stealing things. 😵💫
The mother showed up with her daughter, still denying any wrongdoing or responsibility. Claims she never told my daughter she saw it here with anyone. 🤥
The mother was all, “Are you SURE sweetie? Can you at least TRY to find it just to be a good helper?” This child was whining and being generally obnoxious and I’m exhausted by this entire situation. At this point we’ve been at this random center for almost 2 hours. 🤕
I went outside to send a text and stop myself from speaking to this kid myself. Like, I’m sorry but you know your child straight up stole from us. What’s with the coddling? Maybe this is why there’s a pattern here. If it were my child I’d be like, enough. Go get the watch you stole from wherever you hid it and apologize IMMEDIATELY. But NAH. 😤
When I went back inside a whole ass five minutes later, MAGICALLY this definitely not guilty hellion “found it!”. The mother was acting so proud of her?? 😒
We exchanged numbers and I showed her the damage. She did send me money to pay my deductible to have it repaired/replaced. But good lord this entire ordeal made me super annoyed.

The end.
