This WAS going to be a post bitching about low-latency audio being much harder on modern Linux due to the bolting on of extra subsystems such as Pipewire.
Buuut in the end I successfully recorded a core sketch for the blatantly Hypothermia influenced (three chords, six million effects, spend twenty minutes on it) jam that I hope to find time to do later.
Here's a demo take of what might become swallow.
While I really like being able to apply effects in post, I am going to fucking [redacted] if I don't get an audio interface soon (mine died), because I had to record this without monitoring due to latency issues that I can resolve in guitarix thanks to it slapping a latency pull-down right in the menus, but not in JACK or Reaper.
And yeah, definite skill issue, I'm doubtless missing something.
