I'm not a patent lawyer either, but I spent a lot of time when working for Global Well Known Company applying for patents and talking to patent lawyers.

I would not be worried about ignoring a 2020 patent this clearly describing the same thing as an expired 1995 patent when not from the same company (thus not even trying to be a continuation).
