alright. That assumption is made cause when you ask people that, and they actually have a preference, that's, well, racist. Why choose one, say, fully democratic and free nation over another? Or one genocidal nation over another? If they're equally good/bad and powerful, of course.

Some people, actually a lot of people, have an answer that isn't "neither". And it's racist. And lots of time talking about the conflict I encounter people whose opinions are that Israel has no right to exist at all; when that isn't true, and much more complex, but they just instantly assumed "white" equals "bad guys". Regardless of whether they're right, it's racism.
