Ignorance is bliss because conscience does not torture for that which you do not know. If ignorance is fostered deliberately, how complicit are you exactly for the sins of your ancestors, your nation, and your religion? — conversely, an ignorant mind becomes more susceptible to state/institutional/ideological guilt inducement, which only results in a hijacked morality of the individual.
What if being ignorant is a sin in itself?
A tyrant would be a bad tyrant if he does not capitalise on keeping the masses ignorant and hollowing the conscience by eroding solid moral foundations. Propaganda takes care of the former and a shallow ideology of the latter. Telling people they are victims softens them to envy, resentment and hate. It takes away any personal responsibility and makes the psyche susceptible to deconstructionist ideology, which unsurprisingly is peddled by those who mask their will-to-power in hollow words. No ideal? No judge
