"content": "My story \n\nLearning to eat what works for you can be one of the hardest things we do!\n\nWhen you were little, you were told to eat your vegetables and fruit—you need fiber—too much meat is bad for you!\n\nIn my house, we ate a lot of processed foods. My parents worked, so Chef Boyardee, frozen dinners, Little Debbie’s—it was easy to grab and make myself as a kid.\n\nAs an adult, I developed microscopic colitis and thyroid issues, but no doctor ever really tried to guide me or educate me on how to take care of myself. So, for many years, I didn’t feel great. I had anxiety, hot flashes, fatigue, brain fog. The worst of it was after my kids, when I had depression. Tears rolling down my face at any given moment, and I didn’t even know why—a sadness so hard to explain.\n\nAnd I tried all the things: eating healthier (more veggies, less meat, portion control, keto), grounding, crystals, meditation, journaling, exercising… and yes, I went to the doctor.\n\nThen, after many times of my husband telling me I needed to try keto or carnivore, I finally gave in. It was either try it out or live with this depression that was slowly taking away the person inside me.\n\nHave you ever been depressed? If you have, you may understand what I’m about to say. If you’ve never had depression or anxiety, then you might think, “Oh please—just think positive.” If it were only that easy! Depression is like a virus that you can’t control. It slowly creeps in until it completely takes over. And no matter if you have family or friends around to support you—you still feel completely alone. I can still see myself—it was like I was stuck inside a box that I couldn’t get out of. At first, there is some light seeping in, and then it starts to get darker and darker. How do I move? How do I be the mom to my kids that they need me to be? How do I be the wife my husband needs? So many times, you put a smile on your face and you pretend you’re happy, and you hold in the tears when that sadness creeps up in front of them because they can’t see this version of you! The you that you no longer recognize in the mirror. It’s like Groundhog Day every day—you’re just going through the motions, waiting for bedtime to come. Because at least when I’m sleeping, I can’t feel!\n\nSo I finally said, “I can’t keep living this way!” I need to feel free! If I try changing my nutrition to carnivore, the worst thing that can happen is that it doesn’t work—but what if it does??!\n\nThat “what if” was all I needed to say YES!\n\nAnd now, here I am over a year—about 90% carnivore—and finding what works for me! No longer depressed, more energy, no brain fog, less inflammation, feeling like I have something to live for. It’s a constant learning process, not just physically but mentally. Re-learning everything.\n\nI share my story not to advocate for a one-size-fits-all solution but to highlight the importance of exploring different avenues for healing. What worked for me might not work for everyone, but taking that step to find what resonates with your body and mind is crucial. If you’re struggling, don’t hesitate to try new approaches, seek support, and, most importantly, listen to your own needs. Your path to well-being is uniquely yours to discover.\n\n#carnivorediet #mentalhealthjourney #healingthroughfood #nutritionmatters #depressionrecovery #anxietyrelief #brainfog #energyboost #guthealth #carnivoreketo #ketotransformation #holistichealth #foodismedicine #lowcarblifestyle #healthjourney #autoimmunehealing #carnivoreforlife #healingmysteryillness #selfcarematters #mindbodyconnection ",
